I find it important to balance levity and intensity in my life. My sense of humor brings fast friends while also easing difficult situations. I am very feminine, and clean up nicely, but I am not a girly girl. I find shopping about as enjoyable as giving blood. I grew up with a lot of brothers and can still launch myself over a backyard fence when necessary. This comes in handy in my neighborhood.

I love cooking, and easily spend hours at cheese shops, the farmers' market, Tartine, Clement Street, farmers' markets, etc. Cooking is not just about eating, it's a sensuous experience and I enjoy the process as much as the finished product.
