Back at Square One Several months ago, I did an unusual thing by CL standards - I made an honest post in search of someone interested in spending time with me, not as my (or their) anything, but as something special. I explained that I was married, but that for reasons of younger children my wife and I have opted to continue living in the same house (though to not have so-ed 'marital relations'). I explained that I longed for the conversation, the warmth, the companionship, the touch and the feel of someone special.

On several occasions since then I thought I had found what I was looking for. Invariably though there was a factor involved (wanting to jump into bed with me entirely too soon, wanting me to leave my situation without really understanding it, too much distance between us, conflicts in personal schedules, the woman simply stopped continuing e-mail dialogue, etc.) which has eliminated everyone who had approached me back then. Literally dozens contacted me in pursuit of the same things I sought (or so I believed); but utlimately, none have panned out. One by one they fell away; none resulting in a relationship of any significance.

So I'm trying, once again and probably in vain, to seek out a woman who would be interested in pursuing something together... I can't say exactly what (I honestly don't know, as I've not gotten anywhere close to it yet thus far). Maybe it's an FWB situation, maybe it's a long-term relationship, maybe it results in us eventually spending our lives together when we're both capable of doing so. I don't know.
