I am a passionate and voracious consumer of literature, from 500 B.C. to the present. I am currently reading on philosophy, reason, logic, as well as the ever present science fiction and fantasy. I have learned to be a much deeper thinker and conversationalist in my old(er) age. It must be said that I am regularly mistaken to be a decade or more younger. I am passably conversant on a variety of topics, yet known to be an attentive listener. Additionally, I am highly utilitarian in social situations - which means that I can fit in well with nearly anyone who is not inherently obnoxious. and obnoxious people are a bit of pet peeve of mine. Speaking of which, I am , do not drink regularly or take . I steer clear of processed foods and generally do not eat at restaurants unless they are vegetarian (though I am not, strictly speaking, a vegetarian). I smoke fine cigars occasionally - which is my one semi-regular vice. I have a sense of humor that is scalable to fit nearly any situation, from work funny to inappropriately funny. I have and I know how to use it to its best effect, but, I am never cruel or demeaning - which is another pet peeve. I cannot abide by those who must belittle others. I have self-deprecating jokes and I know how to use them! I am as a in the world, prone to find much wonder and amazement in the strangest things. I am an educated, white-collar professional who bears a passion to serve my fellow man (and woman, and ). I used to be a hard-hitting and successful salesman, but found the money and trappings thereof to be hollow, unsatisfying. I downgraded to the public sector and now work in social services. Additionally, I do an extensive amount of volunteer work in the community. What little free time I currently have is quite , which is why I will get to the part that you made not find so intriguing: I am married. My wife is a great friend, likely one of the best I will have had, but, friendship is all that it is anymore. This is something that we both acknowledge, appreciate, understand, and accept. Modern life is highly complicated, so I am not a big fan of outdated and inflexible conventions. You should be progressive, secure in yourself, and brave enough to know that you are a great person - regardless of what others might think of you. I am not judgmental, should you be - we are all imperfect human , living in an imperfect world. I cannot be clear enough that I am not interested in sexual encounters, but rather meaningful, positive, and enjoyable connections. I am in no hurry, none at all. I am not interested in your age, race, color, weight, or politics - though those who are close-minded, intolerant, or highly dependent upon supernatural beings for their care taking may not appreciate my modern slant on our existence and its relationship to the natural world.
